It is truly satisfying to call on a home service company you’ve never used before with good results. So often, it’s, “I’ll never use them again.”
This week, however, I had a really good experience.
When we came back from a trip to North Carolina, we found water on the floor at the base of our toilet. Several years back, we had to have the commode lifted and set back in place with new seals and I feared this was the same, expensive problem. I called my friend, Pat Crowley with Mr. Fawcett, but he was on vacation and recommended a plumber named Raymond Hunt. I knew Ray Hunt with UVA very well. A brilliant man. It turns out that Raymond Hint is a brilliant plumber; at least he was for me.
Raymond’s company is called Action Drain and Home Repair. His motto is “We fix it right the first time. “He showed up with within an hour after I called, rolled up his sleeves and went to work. The problem was a leaky thing-a-ma-jig beneath the toilet bowl where fresh water comes in. His working van is filled with plumbing parts and supplies. He did whatever was necessary, replaced the leaking parts, charged just $85 and left me his card.
With plumbers and car repairmen, you are really at their mercy, at least I am. They can and often do gouge their customers. Raymond certainly didn’t and I have scheduled him for a few more projects.
If you are in the Charlottesville area and need an excellent, reliable plumber, one you can trust, call Raymond Hunt at 434-566-1914.
He has my whole-hearted endorsement.
