We have been dealing with Tiger Fuel for years. They are the folks who keep the propane tank in our back yard filled for our gas logs. What we didn’t know until recently is that they also service gas logs.
Generally, we have a technician from one of the stove companies come out and clean our gas logs before each season. This year, the technician said our logs were old and not in good working order and that we should leave the damper open in the fireplace, which concerned me. But we did and all the heat from the logs – and probably from our house – went up the chimney.
One chilly evening I said, “To heck with the technician, I’m closing the damper.”
Then Nancy worried that we would go belly-up from faulty gas log fumes, so she called our friend, Casey Hastings with Tiger Fuel, and asked his opinion.
Casey said he would send one of his guys out right way to inspect, and at that point we found out that he had a service department for gas logs. The man came as scheduled, cleaned the embers and logs and pronounced them in good working order – not to worry. Since then, the damper has been closed and we are back in business.
From now on, Tiger Fuel will be our total gas provider, not only in propane, but service. They are good people. Call them at 434-293-6157 or go to www.tigerfuel.com
