My kids gave me an electric mower last summer. My old gas mower was wobbling along on 3 wheels. Sometimes it started, sometimes it didn’t. The new mower was mouse-like quiet, light at as hair spray and did a great job. Except, it was a push mower and I have a heavy stand of zoysia grass in my front yard and pushing even that light mower was like pulling a red wagon through a 6-inch snow.
I decided to sell that one and get a self-propelled electric mower.
I had seen them advertised at Lowe’s, but I was on Rio Road and pulled into Piedmont Power. They had one in stock – said they had been hard to get with the supply chain and all. I kicked a few tires and bought it. It was the same price as Lowe’s, but it was an ECHO, I believe a superior product.
The folks at Piedmont couldn’t have been nicer. They held my mower for several days until I could pick it up. Sarah Ellis showed me how to use it, explained the features and had it perfectly assembled – not in a box.
I have had several dealings with the store on Rio Road, all very positive.
The main store for Piedmont Power is in Orange. Both stores sell landscaping equipment, farm equipment, Big Tex trailers, lawn mowers, tractors, trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws. And they service what they sell.
I really love my new ECHO mower. It has five speeds to suit your pace. The top speed will literally drag you across the lawn. I usually go with #3 or #4. It also has an auto-switch dual battery dock, so you won’t run out of juice mid-way through mowing.
Next time you need any type of lawn or garden equipment, check out Piedmont Power. In Charlottesville, they are located as 1525 Rio Rd E. Call them at 434.975.4100
It’s nice to do business with a very nice local business.
