When it rains, it pours. At least I find that true when things go wrong around the house. In the past few months, our refrigerator died, our wall oven died, our stove top was on life support and our dishwasher was placed on extended leave. After replacing all of the above, we noticed a wet spot on the ceiling of the downstairs bath. A leak! That’s never good and company is coming for Thanksgiving! But fortunately, I have a friend, Pat Crowley, who is both handy and affordable when it comes to plumbing problems. I called Pat, he was free and came over early that afternoon. By day’s end, he had tracked down the leaky valve behind the wall, replaced it and the bill was less than $200. Some plumbers charge almost that much just to come by.
Pat charges by the hour – $60 – and he doesn’t begin charging until he is on the job. He is not equipped to do heavy plumbing work, like replacing a drain field in a yard or installing pipes throughout the house, but he can fix leaks of all descriptions and turn potential disasters into affordable nuisances.
If you need someone like Pat, call him at his business – Mr. Faucet. His number is
