I have an electric chainsaw because I never could get a gas saw to work when I needed it. With an electric saw, if your extension cord is long enough, just plug it in, squeeze the trigger and you can whack away.
Last week a big pine limb dislodged and actually stuck vertically in the ground. My wife Nancy dictated that the branch be sawed and removed, which is fine, except the chain came off the saw. Once before I had managed to put it back on, but this time I was at a loss. I tried every which way and struck out.
When in doubt, take stuff to an expert, is my mantra. So I meekly took my Poulan saw to Charlottesville Power Equipment, admitting that I lacked the good the sense to put a chain back on track.
“No problem. We’ll handle it,” said a friendly guy at the counter.
That very afternoon they called and said the saw was ready.
I would have gladly paid $25 or $30, or whatever they asked, but they didn’t charge anything. Can you imagine?
I have had several dealings with this local company – all more than satisfactory. They can repair – or sell – most any power tool or piece of equipment. They sell used equipment and new. They sell and service lawn mowers, golf carts, Ventrac Tractors, pressure washing equipment, string trimmers, tillers, trailers, chain saws and generators.
Spring is upon us. If you need sales or service, check them out.
In the future, when I need equipment, I’ll make Charlottesville Power Equipment my first stop, not my last.
They are located at 1525 Rio Road, next to Putt Putt. Contact them at 434-296-6937.
