An Orange County youth, Robert Kloby, has become a Bassmaster High School All American. Jones becomes the third Virginia All American in two years. James Graves of Syria and Dylan Berry of Madison were previously named to that prestigious group in 2015. Both were members of the Madison County High School Anglers Tournament Team.
Robert Kloby is a member of the Orange County High School team. The State High School and Youth B.A.S.S. Nation Virginia Director to a National Committee nominated Kloby. High School B.A.S.S. Nation members from around the country are nominated and a National selection committee makes the selection of state all Americans. From this list of State All Americans, 12-15 are chosen as National All Americans and then have the opportunity to fish in a National tournament in Kentucky in June.
Kloby, a senior 2016 graduate from Orange County High School, is a member of the John Crews BNVA High School Elites, and a former OCHS Angler of the Year, and member of the Joseph Thomson Memorial State High School 6-man team Champions for 3 years. He has also participated in the Fishers of Men Legacy tournament trail. Also a member of the Grey Goat Lures Pro Staff, Robert joined the BNVA Youth and High School tournament trail as a 6 grader, while at Locust Grove Middle School.
According to Becky Gore, State High School Bassmasters Director, “This young man has truly been a tremendous role model for youth fishing. He may not have placed first in lots of tournaments, and too often, he has come up just a few ounces short in being the champ, but he has done a ton of other things as serving as a youth Angler and Conservationist, OC 4-H member, and community and school leader.”
“He has always been eager to do any B.A.S.S Nation VA. Youth project and/or assist me at our state promotional set up at various sportsman’s expo,” Becky added. “A youth leader, in aquatic conservation, he has been a successful angler in many tournament series. I’ve had few in my nearly 20 years in the program, be equal to his efforts.”
Congratulations, Robert. Good job!
