My friend Beverly Carson called this week to ask my opinion about a freak thing that happened to her. Beverly lives out in the boonies, in the woods. Her house is about ¼ mile from the road and she always puts a cover over her automobile when it sits in. her driveway. But one morning she came out and saw that the top of her cover had been ripped to shreds, Not the hood, just the top, and she knew I studied birds and wanted to know what I thought.
I haven’t the foggiest.
I asked if she had food in her car or had spilled something on the car cover. Nope and nope.
It wasn’t a bird, I felt sure. Only a hawk or raptor could do that, and why would they, unless a mouse had run up beneath the cover, which seemed unlikely. Squirrels wouldn’t have done that, not ripped the cover to shreds. It sounded like something a bobcat might do, or a vandal, but why? I am at a loss. I thought maybe some of my CvilleBuzz readers might have a theory. That was a really strange event.
