I had heard that Waynesboro Country Club was open to the public and again accepting VSGA Cards and thought that would be a nice venue for a round of golf. But I went to the VSGA booklet and Waynesboro was not listed. There was, however, a flyer that had three additional courses open to VSGA and Waynesboro was included. But the phone number on the flyer was no good, so I went to their web-site, got that number and it didn’t work, either. Perhaps it was their old site, but that phone number was wrong as well.
I feared the course had gone out of business, and I hated that. When we lose a golf course, there is rarely a new one coming along to replace it.
But my golf companion, Mike Perry from Waynesboro, said the course was indeed open and they would take VSGA cards based on availability and with a 48-hour advance reservation.
Waynesboro is a beautiful course, always in excellent condition and a good test for golfers of all levels. The number that works is 540-943-1131.
Their address is 117 Meadowbrook Road in Waynesboro. Tee it up!
