One of the knocks against golf these days is that it’s expensive. It can be, but it doesn’t have to be. My golfing Amigos and I have been wearing out our VSGA VIP cards, making the game a lot less expensive and a lot more fun since we’re playing lots of different courses.
A VIP basically allows a golfer to have free greens fees with a cart rental. Looking back over the past few seasons, I have used my Virginia State Golf Association VIP Card at Meadowcreek, at Lake Monticello, Tanyard, Old Trail, Ingleside, and 5 Greene Hills, and even the Homestead. My cost for each of those rounds ran from $26 to $30 – about the cost of two movie tickets and the card set me back just $65.
The new 2021 VSGA cards are out (what a neat Christmas present for a golfer!) and they have added even more opportunities to save money.
Cardholders will enjoy VIP pricing at more than 200 participating courses in Virginia and West Virginia while supporting college scholarships. To date, nearly $2.5 million in scholarships have been awarded to students with an interest in golf.
Also available is the “Digital Only” version. Cardholders will be able to redeem offers directly through the MyVSGA app. Two years ago, I misplaced my booklet and had to order another one (at a reduced cost, but I still had to pay extra). No more lost booklets with the Digital Only version.
