We were on the 16th tee box in a spirited golf match at Heritage Hills in Harrisonburg when the young man from the Pro Shop appeared and said the carts needed to be in at 5:30 – and it was 5:30. That was good information, but information we never received. I wouldn’t have booked at 1:30 tee time (the only one available) had I known. We normally complete our round in 4 hours, but we were placed behind two high school team golf-foursomes, walkers that had to putt everything out. We waited 3 to 5 minutes on each hole.
Heritage Oaks is – or was – one of my favorite courses. It’s a fun course, very playable, in great shape and it’s inexpensive. I would have liked to known in advance that we had to turn in the carts at 5:30.
But why?
It stayed light (before DST)) until 6:30 and it’s spring, for gosh sakes. People are playing golf. You’d think this was a lame brain idea of government. Oh yeah, the City of Harrisonburg owns the course. It figures.
Here’s a giant “Boo Hiss” for Heritage Oaks.
