Timberwood Grill delivers great food for pickup, but they are also back in action delivering spot-on food in their restaurant on Worth Xing at Forest Lakes. Well, not exactly inside their restaurant – they don’t feel comfortable with that yet, but they are serving outside on their large, shaded patio.
Last week – after a bad experience at Texas Roadhouse – we called for reservations at Timberwood. They had a table for two on their patio and we quickly claimed it.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience at Timberwood Grill. Overall, the service has been good and the food very good. I was impressed that even though restaurants can now reopen in their dining areas, Timberwood is still being extra cautious.
I noticed, however, that they were doing a bustling business at their curb-side pick-up area. Lots of patrons are still not comfortable being around a lot of other people.
For an appetizer, we ordered the Crab Dip, an original Timberwood Grill recipe made from scratch and served on delicious Toasted Herb Ciabatta Bread. It was out of sight. I devoured all the bread and dip – gained two pounds the next day, but it was worth it. For dinner, Nancy had their Fish & Chips – it was also excellent, a generous portion and served piping hot. I went with their Reuben Sandwich. Since Lord Hardwicks closed, Timberwood Grill has assumed the title of Home of Charlottesville’s Best Reuben Sandwich. Piled high with pastrami, their Reuben boasts delicious sauerkraut, a double portion of Swiss cheese, and homemade thousand island dressing on grilled rye bread. It was simply perfect.
Again, I appreciate the efforts of all our restaurants to reopen and once again serve customers and we have tried to be as supportive as possible.
Timberwood Grill is open from 11 to 8 PM on Sundays and Mondays and from 11 to 9 PM the rest of the week. Call them for reservations at 434-975-3311 or visit them at timberwoodgrill.com for a curb side order.
