For 18 years, Rhett’s Bar and Grill was Charlottesville’s favorite seafood restaurant, but then suddenly lost their lease. Instead of relocating in Charlottesville, however, Rhett’s pulled up stakes and headed for a more business friendly atmosphere at Spring Creek in Louisa County. Now open, Rhett’s is getting rave reviews like never.
Last Sunday, Sherman Shifflett and Ava Pippin chose Rhett’s as a dining-out spot, and they were not disappointed.
“We had a great meal,” Sherman declared. “Ava ordered a small garden salad and a side order of shrimp. She got the Tomato Balsamic salad dressing and said it was very good. Although my doctor advised me to lay off shellfish because of a run-in with gout, I hadn’t had seafood in 6-8 months. But I ordered fried oysters and a small garden salad. The oysters were great, all 12 of them. Thirteen actually, and they were large.”
“For dessert, we ordered Berry Cobbler. It was fantastic: mixed berries with a cake crust, served hot in a small cast-iron skillet. Vanilla ice cream and cool whip on top. We requested two spoons. It was really good.”
Rhett’s serves fun, fresh, creative dishes consisting of fresh seafood, smoked meats, steaks, sandwiches, and amazing specials. They provide a fun, lively atmosphere with a beachy feel and serve lunch and dinner.
Rhett’s is now just a short drive from Cville in Zion Crossroads, just off I-64. The address is 134 Wood Ridge Terrace Suite 100. They are open seven days a week from 11 AM till 10 PM. They stay pretty busy so call ahead for reservations at 540-832-6280.
