Rhett’s Bar & Grill was one of our go-to restaurants for a Friday night out. It was certainly convenient, about a mile from our house and the food was always spot on. Then Rhett Craddock loaded up his cloth napkins, pots, pans, and cookbooks and moved to Louisa, at Zion Crossroads. Lots of friends – some who live in Spring Creek – have since been often and rave about it.
Last weekend, we joined our dining-out buddies – Tony and Barbara Kinn – to pay Rhett and his staff a visit. It was a wonderful experience. It was as good, and maybe even better than before. The service was excellent, the prices were reasonable and everything I put in my mouth was delicious.
Tony ordered ribs. He says Rhett’s does the best ribs in town – falling off the bone tender and coated with a delicious sauce. Barbara ordered Oysters Rockefeller, again very good. Nancy and I went with the Fried Oysters, one of Rhett’s Specialties. They were perfect. We also ordered Raw Oysters, Calamari and I had Fried Green Tomatoes that were superb.
It was simply a wonderful dining experience.
Rhett’s is now located at 134 Woodridge Terrace, Zion Crossroads, across the road from the major shopping center and near the hotel. There are no signs, you just sort of have to track it down or listen to the lady on the GPS bark out directions.
Rhett’s has a massive menu with dozens of seafood choices, top grade beef selections plus pastas, salads, and lots of grill food.
They were busy, but not jammed pack. Reservations come in handy on weekend nights, however. It is the single best restaurant in Louisa these days.
If you haven’t been to Rhett’s in a while, you won’t be disappointed when you make the 12-mile drive to Zion Crossroads. It was and still is a great place to eat out.
