Finally.
I can write an Eating Out column again. We actually went out to dinner for the first time in over two months.
We called Bonefish for a reservation. I figured that with all the restaurants reopening, they would be packed and it would be difficult to be seated. But they weren’t, even at limited seating capacity. We watched as more take-out bags were delivered outside than meals to customers in the restaurant. Many still aren’t comfortable being around other people.
The management at Bonefish was exceedingly cautious. They wanted us to wear our face masks to the table, then we could take them off. The tables had been sterilized and practically spit-shined. The menus were disposable paper so no one could pass germs that way. The entire staff wore masks and plastic gloves. I would say there would be ten times more likelihood of catching the virus at Lowe’s than at Bonefish.
But I was so excited, I didn’t know what to order. Two things I love at Bonefish are their Kobe-beef type burgers and their Fish & Chips, but I wanted something a little more exotic. We started with a bowl of Bang-Bang Shrimp, naturally, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Cakes from the appetizer menu and paired it with a Caesar salad as a main course. Their crab cakes are always excellent and the Remoulade Sauce they serve with it is scrumptious. Nancy had the Chicken Marsala, new to the menu. She said it was very good.
Overall, everything was delicious, the service was good and it sure was nice to be able to go and eat again.
