If you enjoy authentic Mexican – not Americanized Mexican such as Taco Bell – stop by El Milagro in Ruckersville. It’s the real deal.
Until recently, El Milagro (which means “miracle” in Spanish) was located in a drive-in (a former Wendy’s location) located across from Blue Ridge Café on Rt. 29 North. However, the owner of the property decided to put it up for sale, so El Milagro moved back into the small green store where it was originally located. The store is basically a Mexican grocery store, with genuine, traditional Mexican foods and spices.
The food at El Milagro is all made from scratch. I tried a Steak Burrito this week and it was very good – and it was real steak, not hamburger and piled high. Their tacos are also excellent and authentic. Their menu includes Quesadillas, Gorditas and Sopes, Fajitas and more.
It takes a few minutes if you decide stop, since they cook to order. There is a small dining area inside if you’d like to eat there, or they will prepare your order to go.
The prices are reasonable, the servers are friendly and the food is very good. If you enjoy authentic Mexican, try it next time you pass through Ruckersville. The address is 285 Commerce Drive. Their phone number is 434-939-9920 for call ahead orders. They are closed Tuesdays but open until 10 PM throughout the week.
