This is the concert we wait for. If you live in or near Charlottesville, The Christmas Concert with the Charlottesville Municipal Band is the one to see.
On Dec. 15, the band will present its 97th Season Holiday program at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts from 3:30 to 5 PM.
Special performances include the Oratorio Society, the DMR Youth Chorus and vocalist, Julie Stavitski.
The concert will feature renditions of Angels From the Realms of Glory, A Christmas Festival, Greensleeves, Virgin Unspotted, O Magnum Mysterium, Selections from Polar Express, Hallelujah Chorus, Do You Hear What I Hear, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, White Christmas, Sleighride and the always popular Christmas Sing-along.
The band also asks that you bring some canned or non-perishable foods to share with the Emergency Food Bank.
Come early for a good seat and bring your best singing voice. As usual, the performance is free.
Merry Christmas from the band.
